DeLay to face judge Friday - Say Cheese!

Mon Oct 17, 2005 at 03:34:23 PM PDT

Travis County, Texas Judge Bob Perkins will more then like likely have defrocked House majority leader and exterminator of political careers, and ... bugs... appear for booking, fingerprinting, and a mug shot
Delays attorneys have been hard at work trying to avoid the event, but as noted in the story:

"Perkins believes that if God was charged with a felony, he would have to go through the booking process, too," said D'Ann Underwood, court coordinator for the judge.

A (drunken) rave about FEMA and the cowards that run it.

Posting while watching Bill O'Shitlips and drinking MANY Negra Modelo is probably a bad idea - something like calling old girlfriends on my cell phone after a hard night- but what the hell, maybe ill feel better after this is done.

I had a tough little bastard of a fire Captain a years ago tell me "an well run emergency is nothing more than a series of mistakes rapidly corrected".  Through years of very big wild land fires, chemical plant fires, train derailments and all those "big deal" events you get to see as a firefighter with a large fire department, I really can't agree more.

Why Listen to the Experts? AFM flood warnings.

Association of Floodplain Managers is an association of over 6500 State and Local floodplain managers from accross the country. While they seem the quiet, science advocacy types, some of their predictions and warnings are ringing true.

Testimony in April before House Appropriations Committee (pdf file) warned of directing resources from natural disasters in favor of terrorism response. A (pdf file) 2000 publication has some pretty accurate predictions on flood impact.  This study accurately remarks that not only are we underfunding and taking floodplain issues seriously, we are causing more harm by way of building and redevlopement incentives in coastal, floodplain areas.

The Faux News response.

Thu Sep 01, 2005 at 06:31:15 PM PDT

Weve all been waiting for the Faux news and RNC talking points.  How do we cover for the horrible, scattered and half-assed response to this terrible disaster?

  • The lack of food, care and medical facilities are not the fault of the government, its the looters.

  • We can look tough, bring back the base by saying how hard lined our response to looters and roving gangs of miscreants.  Please use "shoot to kill" "immediate threat" "hard response". Dont use "shoot on sight" Yet.

  • These people are not looking for food or clean clothing - they are looters, gang members, crooks.  If they werent involved in crime they would have left NO.

  • Looters are only domestic terrorists, out to destroy our freedom blah blahh blah blahhhh.
